Now what?

Layout Like a Landscape Architect

Group small shrubs and groundcovers in clusters of 3–5 for a natural, cohesive look.

Layer plant heights: place taller species at the back and lower ones at the front of garden beds.

Follow spacing rules: plant 3 per m² for small plants, and 1 per m² for larger ones to avoid overcrowding.

Prepare the Soil
Like You Mean It

Dig the hole twice as wide and the same depth as the pot.

Loosen the soil around the planting zone and add compost or soil conditioner to improve drainage and nutrients.

Water the hole before planting—think of it like giving the roots a welcome drink.

Technique
Matters

Gently remove the plant from the pot and tease out the roots if they’re circling tightly.

Place the plant so the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface—not deeper.

Backfill and firm down the soil to remove air pockets, then water deeply to settle it.

Aftercare is
Everything

Water regularly (especially in the first 4–6 weeks), and mulch around the base (but not touching the stem) to retain moisture and suppress weeds.

Avoid overwatering—most plants hate soggy roots.

Consider a root stimulant product boost early root growth.
